Evolutionary Computation for Dynamic Optimization Problems (ECDOP-Competition-2012)

Introduction

Many realworld optimization problems are dynamic optimization problems (DOPs), where changes may occur over time regarding the objective function, decision variable, and constraints, etc. DOPs raise big challenges to traditional optimization methods as well as evolutionary algorithms (EAs). The last decade has witnessed increasing research efforts on handling dynamic optimization problems using EAs and other metaheuristics, and a variety of methods have been reported across a broad range of application backgrounds.

The aim of this competition is to promote research on the applications of Evolutionary Computation (EC), including nature-inspired computational models, meta-heuristic techniques, and other intelligent methods, to the solution of DOPs. For the competition, benchmark DOPs and relevant test and evaluation platform will be provided in C++ codes. for interested participators to use and integrate their codes to test their algorithms.

 Paper Submission
The Competition will be co-organized with the Special Session on EC in Dynamic and Uncertain Environments (EciDUE), which will be organised within CEC 2012. Papers that are accepted to the Special Session on ECiDUE and are based on the Competition test and evaluation platform are allowed to participate in the Competition. Interested researchers are invited to contribute their papers to the Special Session on ECiDUE and participate in the Competition.

All papers are to be submitted electronically through the IEEE WCCI 2012 website at http://www.ieee-wcci2012.org/.
