Full Professor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Currently teaches at the Computer Engineering School ( E.T.S.I. Informática) of the University of Granada.

He is member of the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (DECSAI) and the Computer Vision research group (CVG). Dr. Fdez-Valdivia is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the AERFAI (Spanish Association for Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, an IAPR Member Society).

His areas of research interest are Computer Vision, Image Analysis (Biomedical Applications), Feature Detection, Visual Perception (Perceptual Distortion Measures) and Image Coding.
