Born in 1961 Granada, received his M.S. degree in Maths in 1984. He read his Ph. D. Thesis in 1988 in "Subjective methods for ranking fuzzy numbers" and became Lecturer in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence in 1991 and University Professor in 2003. Currently teaches at the Computer Engineering School (E.T.S. de Ingeniería Informática) of the University of Granada.

His areas of research interest are: Approximate Reasoning, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Fuzzy Logic, Planning and Data Mining.

">He is member of the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (DECSAI) and the head of the Intelligent
System Group of the University of Granada (ISG). Moreover, is member of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and
Technologies (EUSFLAT) and member of the Sociedad Española para la Inteligencia Artificial (AEPIA).
